I was commissioned to art direct the Winter/Spring 2013 Issue of Discovery Health Magazine by John Brown Media. The client wanted a re-design to go with the new tablet-sized format. I introduced the 'Stag' slab-serif font that, along with the re-packaging of the editorial content, gave the mag an energetic, modern look. I used strong full-bleed imagery where possible, livened up the colour palette and introduced transparency for depth. Commissioning the key profile shoots to photographers like Bryan Traylor and Morne Van Zyl elevated the imgery to the level I envisioned.
